Ruth earned her BMus
degree in music education from the Conservatory of Music at Lawrence
University of Wisconsin. She went on to receive a MMus in violin
performance, and has completed all coursework and recitals for a DMA in violin
performance. As a graduate student, she attended the Conservatory of Music
at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She studied with Tiberius Klausner and was a recipient of a Ford Foundation Fellowship. Ruth was a
winner of the UMKC Concerto-Aria Competition and performed the Sibelius
Violin Concerto as soloist with the orchestra. Ruth has played in the Grand Rapids (MI) Symphony Orchestra, St Joseph Symphony, Manitowoc Symphony, Lenexa Community Orchestra, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, and is currently a member of the Kansas City Civic Orchestra. She was 1st violinist with the Ford Foundation String Quartet. She has performed extensively as a soloist, including a 2001 performance with Tiberius Klausner and Richard Cass on the Jubilate Concert Series presented by Atonement Lutheran Church. In 2023, Ruth performed at the Amazing EarthFest chamber music series in Utah with Joel Rosenberg. Recently, she was honored to perform with a trio on a recital celebrating alumni at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. She has taught college level students at Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph, Missouri. Ruth is a member of these professional organizations: ASTA, SAA, HASA, NFMC. |
